Thanks so much to everyone who came out to our car wash fundraiser on June 25th! We raised some money and had some fun, which is more than we can ask!
For those of you who weren’t able to make it, fear not! We’re planning another car wash and you can join us then. In the meantime, check out photos of our car wash and be sure to join us for our Silent Auction on July 23rd!
In 2005, New Orleans, along with many other towns along the Gulf, was devastated by the damage inflicted by Hurricane Katrina. Five years later, much of the rebuilding necessary to bring the town back to its former glory has yet to begin.
We want you to see where we’re trying to help. Our goal is to help rebuild houses and give some of the displaced people of New Orleans a place to call home. These are some photos from the 9th Ward, one of the hardest hit places in the city. There are some of the remains of houses that were destroyed (the plots of land they were on and swept away from) and also some of houses left standing. These houses have the crosses on them with numbers in the 4 corners. The top of the cross is the date the house was searched. The very bottom is the number of dead found in the house. The numbers on the left are the ID numbers of the team that searched the house. The letters on the right are directions: “NE” means “No entry.” (Meaning the house was never entered after it was searched by the Red Cross). Also included is a picture of the SuperDome, one of New Orleans’ most readily recognizable landmarks and also where thousands sought refuge and waited on humanitarian aid in the flooded city.
Help us help them. Please donate to our service trip.

We have a little under a month to raise $10,000 for our service trip! Please spread this information to your friends and family and help us meet our goal!

Thank you so much for your support. Without it, our trip won’t be possible!
